Enjoy this healthy refreshing flavored water recipe. Cool, refresh and impress your guests all summer long with this easy to make hydrating treat. Enjoy chilled throughout the season, easy enough and fresh enough to make daily. Be sure to spice up this treat with your favorite herbs infused for additional flavor, or switch it up by replacing the cucumber with watermelon, lemons, or lime.
1 Medium sized cucumber
Chopped Cilantro (optional)
Container (Glass Pitcher or Decanter) to dispense beverage
*Try fresh produce from your local Farmers Market.
Suggested Flavor Alternatives
In place of cucumber try lemons, limes, or watermelon
In place of cilantro try a refreshing mint or flavorful rosemary
Slice cucumbers; recommend a minimum of 8 – 10 slices. Ensure a clean cutting surface to avoid cross contamination with other kitchen ingredients.
Thin Cucumber Slices
Thinly sliced cucumbers. Ensure fruit or vegetables are sliced to fit in the opening space of the dispensing container. If using a small mouth decanter, slice additional pieces to add to or garnish the drinking glass.
Adding the Cucumbers
Drop cucumbers into empty container; or gently fold thin slices into decanter opening (as shown).
Note: Size and shape may vary depending on the dispensing container selected
Ready to Add Water
Once selected and prepared produce has been added to container, fill to capacity with fresh water. You may also add a small about of crushed ice or tiny ice cubes to chill the beverage.
Once the water, produce and herbs* have been added, allow the beverage to chill in the refrigerator or sit undisturbed and allow the flavors to infuse into the water. The longer the mixture stands the more flavor enhanced the water.
Ready to Serve
Serve the chilled flavored beverage in a glass garnished with a cucumber, lemon or ring of lime; or simply add a few slices of fresh cucumber to the glass upon serving. Enjoy this refreshing beverage any time of the day.
