It was just this past Christmas 2013 when all of the drama around the Royal couple Prince Harry and Cressida Bonas was over whether or not Miss Cressie would attend the traditional Royal family holiday gathering at Sandringham Estate. This is a celebration generally kept to the married couples in the Royal family, but by then multiple rumours had been swirling for months over the ‘probable’ upcoming engagement between Prince Harry and Cressida Bonas, making her an ideal guest at Sandringham. Today, the two have sadly parted their ways, but have many Royal watchers watching with breath that is baited over their hopeful reconciliation. If May 30 reports by Vanity Fair are any indication, Cressida Bonas is moving past the breakup and showing all signs that the show must go on.
Cressida is currently working on her latest thespian project for the “How the Light Gets In” Festival of Philosophy and Music. Cressida has a small role in the play “There’s a Monster in the Lake”, a play written by Lily Ashley, the granddaughter of fabric designer Laura Ashley, according to the Daily Mail. The play is about a man that “goes missing from a rehab centre”. Cressida has been attending daily rehearsals and all accounts are suggesting it is because she is throwing herself into her work to move past the breakup and the media frenzy around it.
But is her post breakup strategy working?
The Daily Mail reported on May 29 Cressida could only hold it in so long and was having a sad moment, “looking a bit down in the mouth” during rehearsal of her latest theatrical project. Cressida had been spotted pulling away from rehearsal and needing a moment to herself before getting on with the scene. By all reports it did not take Cressida long to remember that the show must go on, and go on it did with a stellar rehearsal after that.
If there is anything that can help Cressida get through the post-breakup stress it would certainly be her creative performance work. It was just last year when Cressida graduated from the Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance, she has also studied the performing arts at Leeds University. Cressida took a break from her dancing to focus on her Royal relationship, and this matter has been under wide speculation as one of the official causes of the breakup.
There is also a lot of speculation surrounding how Prince Harry and Cressida Bonas are individually handling the breakup. Both parties are clearly handling it their own ways, but multiple reports suggest that both parties are also miserable and that a reconciliation is not yet out of the question.
Although Prince Harry is spotted out and about with go-go dancers downing shots, Cressida Bonas was having a not dis-similar evening when partying with Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie. And if that was not enough for Cressida to prove to the world that she is still very much part of the Royal circuit, she was reportedly known to have had dinner with Prince Harry last week, and a home cooked one at that at Kensington Palace. Cressida also handled her date with Prince Harry much differently than the vodka drinking Paige Collins who was the first to tweet over her night with the Prince.
“It’s not everyday you get to dance and have vodka shots with Prince Harry! He’s the most down to earth man considering he’s a prince.”
Cressida’s approach is much more Royal than that, and she has kept mum about the evening where her Prince cooked her a home cooked meal at Kensington Palace. Many have reported that Cressida is just pulling a Kate Middleton with her post-breakup behavior. But reports like the Daily Mail reports about Cressida being “down in the mouth” give hope to those waiting for a reunion between this couple.
Vanity Fair is also reporting that other subtle signs that show Cressida is just putting on a brave breakup face are evident in the return of the infamous scrunchie. It was the New York Times that called out the “haute bohemian” style of Cressida Bonas when she appeared at a Royal function wearing flowers and a scrunchie. Vanity Fair reported on May 30 that Cressida has revived the “haute bohemian” style and was spotted sporting a scrunchie at her recent play rehearsal.
Prior to that home cooked dinner date at Kensington Palace, Prince Harry had been considering having his next birthday party in Las Vegas. By continuing with his party plans it will certainly aid him in his post breakup face efforts, which he seems to be managing just fine. On the other hand, if Prince Harry wants to get back into Cressie’s good books, he may be rethinking that, as she was reportedly very displeased over the Prince Harry Las Vegas scandal that reminded Cressida that what happens in Vegas doesn’t always stay in Vegas.
Everyone handles breakups in their own separate ways. If career is an issue between this Royal couple, Royal watchers may be disappointed about a possible reunion. Ingrid Seward author of “A Century of Royal Children” and the editor in chief of “Majesty Magazine” told the New York Times via email that a career and a Royal life may not be possible for Cressida Bonas. “It’s very hard to have a career. Many have tried and failed. I don’t see Cressie being able to carry on with her dancing, which is why she is doing a bit of teaching to fill in. She has to do something.”
Is there hope for the Prince and his Cressie? Would you ever give up your career for love? What about for a Prince or Princess?
