If you are a dog lover and a wine lover, here is the perfect event to combine both of your interests. Just head for the Grand River Cellars in Madison, Ohio on Saturday, June 14 and attend their unique annual “Woof, Wag & Wine” event. Madison is approximately a one hour drive from Cleveland.
“Woof, Wag & Wine” Providing visitors a chance to spend some quality time with their canine friends, the “Woof, Wag & Wine”event is also offering wine tasting, tours of the Grand River Cellars vineyards, a Chinese Auction and a Silent Auction (and the chance to win great prizes) in addition to live musical entertainment.
Spotlighted activities include a costume contest (for the best wine-themed costume) at 1:30 p.m., Vineyard tour walks and the Wine-Woof Dash ( at 3:30 p.m.) where contestants will run with a glass of wine with their dog.
Admission is $20 per person and includes a Muddy Paws wine sampling and a tour of the vineyard. You must be 21 years of age or older to partake of the wine sampling. From every bottle of wine that is sold, $1 will be donated to the Lake Humane Society.
There will be some seating available under tents on the Grand River Cellars grounds but guests are encouraged to bring blankets and lawn chairs and canopies. Food will be available for purchase and can be enjoyed outside on the lawn (weather permitting). No outside food or drink is permitted on the grounds.
Friendly dogs (both to people and other dogs) are most welcome. Dogs must be leashed at all times during the event and must be up-to-date on their age-appropriate vaccinations. The dogs may not enter the Grand River Cellars restaurant.
Hours for the “Woof, Wage & Wine” event are 1 p.m. – 5 p.m. Admission is $20 per person. There is no admission fees for the dogs.
