After Hale’s day of silence, Kenzi decides she wants revenge against Massimo. Sadly, she does not get it. Bo gets dragged into more Rainer issues, and she makes the choice to focus on that instead of Kenzi. Now, this is not to say that Bo is blowing Kenzi off for something trivial, but it does sting. It would have been great to have an episode that was Kenzi-centric, or even had Bo or Dyson try to distract her with something else. The writers mention that Kenzi is being trained by Dyson to become a shadow thief, but we never see it. That is all just personal wishes. By having Bo leaving Kenzi alone in her grief, the writers set up for Kenzi asking for Bo to unclaim her. By the end of the episode, you can understand why Kenzi asks for this, even though it still hurts. What did you think of Kenzi in this episode?
Bo’s focus ends up being on Rainer because they learn that he is cursed, again. This man cannot catch a break. A random knight shows up to protect Bo, which should have initially set off red flags. Another thing that should have seemed obvious to the group is that alliance meant marriage. What is nice about the knight showing up is that it allows Tamsin to show off her Valkyrie knowledge. She collected the souls of warriors for centuries, so she knows a thing or two about crests and queens. Another interesting thing is that Bo believes she will be meeting her father soon, and this ties into the belief that initially Rainer was her father. Perhaps this means that Rainer is not the Wanderer after all. Still, the writers throw a lot of things at the viewers, and some of it makes sense, and other parts are confusing. What did you think of the latest Rainer curse?
Here are some thoughts on elsewhere in the episode. It is unclear as to what the point was in making the Morrigan human. All it causes is a funny moment with her, and then learning that Massimo is her son. This is an interesting twist, but it is hard to figure out what is the point in knowing about it, other than to show that Massimo has a terrible mother. Previously Bo has been talking about destiny and love when it comes to her and Rainer, which has always felt off. Strangely though, Bo states that the marriage is about her family and not about love. This is a little weird, but it could be that Bo is saying that she is not ready for marriage, even though she does have feelings for Rainer. What did you think of the episode?
