On Friday, February 14, 2014, The Multicultural Motion Picture Association (MMPA) announced that they will be hosting its Premiere Awards Season event “Night before the Oscars” Party entitled…. “The Envelope Please” to benefit The MMPA Educational Scholarship Fund for student filmmakers. This annual charity benefit once again will play host to an array of entertainment luminaries and Academy Award nominees.
The event takes place at the Andaz Hotel, Top of the Strip, Panorama Room, Rooftop on 8401 Sunset Blvd., West Hollywood, CA 90069; will this year anticipate in attendance, many 2014 Academy Oscar Nominees and celebrity Guest.
“On the eve of the Oscars, this is the MMPA Oscar biggest fundraiser event for student filmmakers to assist and help raise dollars for their education and perhaps their projects that they are undertaking. The fact that so many people from all over the world will be in town for the 86th annual Oscar Awards”. Said Jarvee Hutcherson, president of the Multicultural Motion Picture Association. He concluded “And we are fortunate to have every year Oscar nominees and celebrities to come out and support the cause. This benefit is always the Who’s Who’s of Hollywood. It is a festive event where people can enjoy, network, have fun and lots of entertainment.”
This annual charity event, which has been a staple of Academy weekend for the past few years, has become among the many sought-after events of camaraderie and Oscar day excitement that jump starts the anticipation of Sunday’s Academy award ceremony event. We are hosting the 20th annual benefit at the Andaz Hotel and are anticipating many of the 2014 Oscar nominees and other celebrities. Some of the celebrities that have participated in the past have been: Halle Berry, Jennifer Lawrence, Lupita Nyong’o, Matt Damon, Rob Lowe, Michael Douglas, Kerry Washington and many more.
The MMPA is a 501©3 film organizations, has played host to some of entertainment’s biggest names and provides aspiring filmmakers with an opportunity to reap the benefits of this charitable event that has been supported and nurtured over the years by writers, cinematographers, directors, and actors all of whom believe that the greatest path to success is one paved with opportunity. This is what the MMPA strives to provide.
The event will include live entertainment, a silent auction, raffles and sumptuous Hors d’oeuvres including a lavish dessert table for this celebrity crowd of discerning tastes and taste makers.
The MMPA provides thousands of dollars annually to men and women of diverse backgrounds seeking to bring various voices and perspectives to the film making community.
