Progressive metal quintet Between the Buried and Me has pretty much become a household name by now. Having released several highly acclaimed records, including 2007’s ‘Colors’ and 2009’s ‘The Great Misdirect,’ over the last fifteen or so years, the band is often ranked amongst the top acts in the genre today. In fact, I’d argue that 2012’s ‘The Parallax II: Future Sequence’ is the greatest metal album ever made, as well as one of the best pieces of music I’ve ever heard. Naturally, they’re hard at work on a new record, but in the meantime they’re still bringing their classic material to fans all across the nation. On Monday, June 23rd, they’ll once again be performing at the TLA, and I can honestly say that their performance will blow you away.
Joining BTBAM will be Deafheaven, Intronaut, and the Kindred, the bands whose intricacy and heaviness are sure to complement BTBAM well. Doors for the show open at 7:00 PM and tickets can be purchased here for around $30. Again, this is absolutely a show you don’t want to miss, and I hope to see you there!
In the meantime, check out my review of ‘The Parallax II: Future Sequence,’ as well as my review of their headlining concert from October ’13 and their show with Coheed and Cambria from March ’13
