As your small business closes out the end of the year, you may be already making some final arrangements to a holiday party. On the other spectrum, you could be a Miami small business that likes to procrastinate about whether or not it should happen this year based on figures from seasonal sales. If you are going to host a party this year, you should think about at least three aspects.
Company morale is the first aspect to consider because it impacts your bottom-line. If everyone is feeling a bit down from a sluggish economy, it may be the best antidote to help them remember why they work where they do. Your small business could be a bright spot, at least, for a few hours.
Phenomenal growth in revenue all year that makes it very important to recognize special associates that made it happen. Think about the guy or gal who always gives 100 percent, it would be nice to give them a dinner gift card with a certificate showcasing how well they are appreciated. Depending on how well, you may spring for a cruise or something significant like that.
Nostalgia and tradition is a strongly held value at your small business. Most people like some level of consistency in where they work. Hosting it at your home or at a favorite restaurant location may be the most change is expected from year to year. Stick with what works and make the most of it.
Most importantly, don’t forget the reason for the season. We are all created to honor Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior. Even though some may not believe in Him, it is still the best reason to do something special to commemorate the day his birth is celebrated. Good tidings to all!
