Summer is the time for Live Music! Here is a listing of some of the standout shows scheduled in June, spotlighting music venues in Montgomery County, Maryland.

6/1 The Flamingos were named by Billboard magazine as one of the most influential vocal groups in pop music history. Their chart topping hit “I Only Have Eyes For You,” has been heralded by The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as a song that helped define rock and roll.
6/3 Pablo Cruise had a successful career spanning the 70’s and 80’s and reached the Top 10 with mega hits like “Watcha Gonna Do When She Says Goodbye” and “Love Will Find A Way,” along with several other radio hits. The band went on to sell several million albums and singles collectively.
6/6 Diane Schuur has been referred to as one of Contemporary Jazz’s leading vocalists. Diane Schuur’s distinguished recording career spans three decades and includes two Grammy awards (Timeless and Diane Schuur and The Count Basie Orchestra on GRP Records), as well as three additional Grammy nominations.
6/9 and 6/10 As part of the annual Silver Spring Blues Festival, Bad Influence with Mary Shaver will perform on 6/9 and on 6/10, The Billy Thompson Band with tenor saxophonist Ron Holloway will perform at the Bethesda Blues and Jazz Club.
6/22 Rickie Lee Jones, a Two-time Grammy winner, exploded onto the pop scene in 1978 and is most notably known for the hit “Chuck E.’s in Love”.

6/28- The Crawdaddies will perform a free concert as part of the Summer Concert Series. The Crawdaddies are best known for their infectious sound, infusing Cajun, Zydeco, Blues, Ska, Roots, Rock and Reggae.

6/6 A night of Comedy with the Chicago vs DC Laff Off featuring Damon Williams and Silver Spring’s own Tony Woods for two shows.
6/29 Primus – Grammy nominated alternative metal band
Silver Spring Blues Festival will take place on June 14 with an all day free outdoor concert starting at 10:00am on Ellsworth Drive in Silver Spring.

6/4 Smokey Robinson, the legendary Motown icon, with a musical career spanning more than 50 years, has an entire catalog of hits including “Tears of a Clown”, “Being With You”, “Shop Around” and “Cruisin'” to name a few.
6/6 Sergio Mendes with Eliane Elias will perform a night of Bossa Nova. Grammy winner Sergio Mendes, one of the original ambassadors of the bossa nova movement to the United States, performs with jazz pianist, arranger, vocalist and songwriter Eliane Elias.
6/13 John Prine, a Grammy award winning singer and songwriter, best known for his hits “Angel from Montgomery” and “Paradise”.
