Three out of four Americans are chronically dehydrated. This leads to more fatigue, anxiety, irritability, depression, joint pain, cravings and a multitude of other symptoms that could be fixed by simply drinking more water.
But what if you don’t like to drink water?
“Think of our body like we do much of nature,” suggests Liz Hajek, a registered nurse and president of My Action Potential in San Antonio, Texas. “If we water a dehydrated plant in a pot where the soil is very dry, the water comes out of the bottom too fast.”
“However, if we keep replenishing the water, soon the soil absorbs it,” Hajek continued. “Our body works the same.”
“If we are urinating often because our body is dehydrated, we should just keep drinking water so our body can eventually hold onto it longer and we don’t have to make so many trips to the restroom.”
Many people carry a refillable water bottle with them at all times so a drink is always available. But what are some other ideas to live a happier, healthier and more hydrated life?
